I think we’ve had enough rain now! Anymore and we will all need flippers for cross country.

IRON BRION
Today ‘Iron Brion’ visited our school to spread the word about healthy eating.
Children and Staff were treated to a delicious hamburger after the show.
Our special thanks to Georgina Ashby, Tania McGrath, Jody Trimble, Karen Orr, Heeni Kani,
Catherine Rivers-Smith and Henare Kani.
for helping to prepare the hamburgers.

CROSS COUNTRY GOLDEN CIRCLE FUN RUN
This involves the whole school on Friday 8th August. Start time 1pm – weather permitting. Postponement day Monday 11th August.
We will break for lunch at 12:15pm ready for a 1pm start.
Please ensure your child has a complete change of clothes, a towel and a warm jacket.
Programme
Races begin with - Year 1 & 2 Room 4
Followed by - Year 3 & 4 Room 2
And then - Year 5 & 6 Room 1

Presentation of Certificates and trophies kindly donated by Mrs Lucas.

This year our Cross Country event is sponsored by Golden Circle, all students have been issued with Sponsorship forms. Money raised will be used to purchase sports equipment.
Students will have until next Wednesday 13th August to collect their sponsor’s money and return to school so that prizes can be ordered.

RIVER GROUP CROSS COUNTRY
Thursday 14th August. Once we have the River Group team selected parents of these students will be informed. We will require assistance with transport for this day.

BOT MEETING
Our next Board meeting will be held in the staffroom at school on Thursday 28th August at 7:30pm. All welcome.

KIDS CLUB
Kids Club After School Care is available Tuesday to Friday. At this stage we do not have regular students requiring Monday childcare. Kids Club is available for casual childcare Tuesdays – Fridays.
Please contact the office if you require after school child care.
Please make use of this wonderful service. Your support, even on a casual basis will help to sustain Kids Club.

AG DAY – FRIDAY 24TH OCTOBER
The Chickens have found their new homes. Now it is time to be thinking about lambs and calves and goats. If you require an orphan lamb please let Mrs Robson know.

PHOTOLIFE STUDIO SCHOOL PHOTOS
The photographers from Photolife Studios will be taking class and family portraits on Wednesday 24th September. If you wish to have family portraits taken come along in the morning – no appointments necessary. They usually start by 9:30am. More details will be sent closer to the time.

DAFFODIL DAY – Friday 29th August
Please give generously to this worthwhile charity, the Cancer Society. We will be selling daffodils and have balloons and tattoo’s for donations given. We will start collecting on the 25th August so if children would like to bring money along that would be great.

Kids Crafty Arty Party
The Franklin Arts & Cultural Centre is now offering kids birthday parties.
Plenty of themes to choose from – pirates, fairies, ghosts etc. Party is 2 hours long including food
$125 per child, minimum number 10 maximum 15
